hi im a 27 yr old male from dublin ,i am new to this site and this is the 1st time i have ever seeked help for my gambling addiction,i never had a problem gambling until about 2 and a half years ago when a friend of mine told me about on-line betting and how if u opened an account u got a free 50euro bet,i opened my account and started playing on-line poker i lost about 15,000 in the space of 2 years.it got to the stage that i was not paying my fair share into the joint bank account i share with my partner, all our bills and mortgage come out of this but i was losing all my money and could barely put 20% of what she was putting into it even though i was earning 200euro per week more than her, somehow she has never found out about this and thinks we have always put in the same,so i decided to close my poker accounts and i taught my nightmare had ended , recently i have been let go from my job and i have blown all my savings (3000) in boylespots shops betting on the liveroulette in the shops, today i went into boyles with 50 quid in my pocket and within half an hour i had 300 ,i said to myself i really should walk out the door now but no,stupid me lost it in less than an hour!!it gets worse…i get this brain wave that if only i had another 50 quid i could turn it into 300 really quick again (but i dont have any money in my account)so i use our joint account bank card to take 50 out, lose it straight away,go again again and again…until i have lost 400 from the joint account ,gets worse… my mortgage is 1100 per month is due out on friday ,so i knew this and after losing all that money i checked the balance in the account and it was 750! wat was i going to do!!!i kept taking money out and losing it until i had maxed out the daily limit of withdrawls on the card which is 800!and i was left with just 350 in the joint account and my partners monthly contribution went in today already, basically i have never felt this low in all my life ,i really need to stop as it has got really out of control…today was the tip of the iceberg as i have been losing a couple of hundred every week without fail…whats next for me ,well tomorow i am going to break down in front of my mother and tell her everything as nobody knows i have a gambling problem and basically ask her for a loan so i can get back on the straight and narrow. thanks for reading my story.gambling can control your life
