Hi
I’ve always seen those gambling addiction signs and pamplets at the casino & clubs and thought how low you’d have to be to let gambling take over your life. When I took one of those pamplets yesterday I realised I’d gotten that low. I’ve been gambling for about 20 years but the past 6 or 7 years things got worse. I got a laptop for Christmas. Great for online gambling! My daughter got a ipad last Christmas and I started online gambling then. There’s not much choice of online games on an ipad, but the laptop gives you soooo many more games to lose on. I was gambling one night and won $3600.00. I lost it all the next night! Instead of transferring it back to my credit card I played it all back. There’s many more win/lose stories that I have but that’s the worst. Tonight I self excluded myself from the casinos, downloaded the free trial bet blocking software and paid bills in advance. I don’t know if I’ll get the courage to fess up to my family, and I hope I can get the credit card down before the debt is noticed, but I feel very confident that I will kick this habit. It’s time to stop the guilt and self loathing. These are emotions that I don’t need in my life. Wish me luck…..’One day’ is here!
