I started work on the 10th – 3 days in and going strong… travel is a bit long each way but the goal is to get back into full time work and its becoming easier???

all good… and glad to read about your saving still going strong.. I plan to do something similar… going to go on the support group now…

you are not alone….
there are thousands of people who never make it this far but you have started a process – the one of acknowledgement… you can change from being addicted to being in recovery and this site can really help… I know.

I have had a lot of troubles because of my gambling and I can see you have too…. you are not alone…

get to the forums as often as you can … they helped me and maybe they will help you… you can do it if you really want to.
its a good place to start… I hope to see you there.

firstly well done for acknowledging you have a problem… you are not alone and you are at a site that really can make a difference… I was lost 6 months ago and I have been able to change… its still a long road ahead but I started here too…

join the forums – they are good… you need to make the effort if you want to change… its not easy but there is always help if you need it or want it… gambling ruined my past life… its a losers life…

keep going my Compulsive gambler – you can change and you are not alone…

Nothing can replace the positivity I get from this site… every gambler or recovery gambler is enabled with positive thoughts on how we can become gamble free….
I will continue to post and will try to join the ex-residents group but it is at an awkward time of day when I will be at work… shame there is not an evening one!
I will also be aware of complacency- this is a very important part of my recovery…

Today, I was offered employment full-time.,, I start in a week. I feel excited and happy that I have been given a chance to change my life….Now the hard work will begin…

Its a new start, a start where I can become a great Dad to my princess. I was taught “life is choices” we make. I can lead a gamble free life if I put in place the preparations…and its really important to put in place, make the plans and prepare for changes as I move forward. Two main things I need to do now… set up a new bank account in preparation for my salary and my friend ( already agreed) to look after this and secondly, to start to rebuild my social life… My job offers me 50% discounted gym membership, that is the first thing done.

I do understand as a recovering gambler, I need to replace my gambling with social events and its not just about work. I have re-read my journal tonight and I have acknowledged where I was 6 months ago and where I am now… I have the ability to change but I need to keep the change going…

Life is the choices we make…. I choose gamble free….

I started at this site, with total despair, with total loss of family and friends, with loss of everything including houses, cars and a well paid job… this is what gambling addicts do…. you are not alone…

if you want to change and I mean really want to change your life around, then you should try the GMA residential programme. They know what they are doing and they know how to help to change your life around…. coming here is a good start and is a good place to talk to fellow CG’s but if you really want to make a difference to your life you need to make a decision that will change it forever – go and really learn how to become gamble free – I did and it works if you want it too….

Ik heb onlangs het GMA-programma afgerond en heb ook een kort verblijf in het halfweghuis gehad… Ik kan eerlijk zeggen dat dit de beste plek is om je leven te veranderen als je dat ook echt wilt… ik heb GA geprobeerd, privé-consulting enz.. een residentiële behandeling werkt… ik ben gelukkig en tevreden en streef ernaar een gokvrij leven te leiden – nee ik heb geen remedie, ik zal altijd een herstelgokker zijn, ik zal altijd hard moeten blijven werken, maar het zal wel wordt makkelijker en gemakkelijker… We hebben lang gegokt en net als ik heb je misschien alles verpest, maar dit programma geeft je de kans om herboren te worden… Veel succes… als je je concentreert en de moeite neemt om verandering, het kan gebeuren – de therapeuten zijn briljant, al het personeel is briljant. . . vertrouw op hen en je kunt een gokvrij leven leiden.
