Uzmanies Wazza Janey

    Hi Wazza

It’s perfectly normal to feel the way you do, the unknown can feel very frightening! I guess the main thing to keep in the front of your mind is that your not coming into a prison :), you’re going to be in a supportive environment surrounded by people who’ve either been where you are or therapists that “get it”. I think a lot of people who go through the programme experience quite a lot of relief to be in such a safe environment once they get used to their new surroundings.

With regards to the specifics of what to bring with you, I’d advise you to give the office a call and speak to Amy, she’ll fill you in on the details.

    Take care Wazza

Hoolitse Wazza Janey eest

Wazza Janey

    Hi Danny

What kind of thing do you have in place to help you get through a difficult day on Thursday? Have you enlisted the help of friends and family to help you manage your money, do you have self exclusions in place or blocking software if you gamble online? Do you intend to come here and chat to us if you start to feel overwhelmed?

It’s better to prepare than to find yourself struggling on a difficult day.

    Take care
    Janey 🙂

You’re proving yet again that you’re a force to be reckoned with! Despite the stress and triggers you’ve remained gambling free so if you can feel some pride in your actions it’d be justified!

As you know, stopping gambling is really the start of the journey, LIFE is what happens when recovery is well underway. The good news is that if you can survive what you’ve already survived, you can survive this! You’re not “The bad one” you’re the reasonable, rational, grown up one who’s dealing with daily life and all the trials that brings. That makes you the STRONG one M, even if it doesn’t feel like that at the moment!

You don’t have to punish yourself anymore because you gambled and you have nothing to prove to anyone….so be kind to yourself and let go of that guilt. Time to have a really long think about what you want and what’s best for you and Bella.

Come and talk to us if you need to but whatever happens, make sure you get enough support because it’s obviously working for you so no retreating back into your own head!

Take care M, you’re in my thoughts.

    Hi Anna

We’re not able to comment on medication as we’re not medical practitioners. You are free to talk about anything that helps you to better understand problem gambling and anything that helps you with your own personal journey.

    Thanks

We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!

Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.

    And on that note….

    Hi Bodeni61

I was sorry to hear about your situation and I know people here will be eager to support you so can I ask you to copy and paste your first post into your own thread? You do this by creating a new topic and the button for this is at the bottom of each forum.

If you do this people will be able to find you more easily 🙂
    Thanks
