Getting your scan is very important and you’ve made the decision that you will be on the phone as soon as that dr’s office opens tomorrow. You haven’t given in to the urge to smoke – fear may be helping in that as well. I found quitting smoking triggered an urge to gamble. I gained twenty pounds, ate too much. But I have taken it off now. It’s that underlying compulsiveness for us, you and I, B. It needs to be satisfied in one way or another until we learn to deal with what’s causing it, or maybe its learning new ways to cope. I’m sorry to hear about your brother. It is hard to watch a family member suffer. And scary when there is a possibility that they may harm themselves. Deep breath, think of all your accomplishments, line up the good things. You are gamble free, smoke free, and more aware than ever of those inner forces. I am thankful that I have met you miss Bettie. Enjoy your day off xo
