Hi Geordie, I am very touched you opened up a thread for me so for that I have to say thank you my friend and thank you for thinking about me. I have many issues in life if I am to be honest and one of those issues is I decide to close journals after having them open for less than a week but I am afraid to say thats just one on the ways I deal with things when I feel venerable (not the right way) but the way I do it and just for today that works for me. I often reply to posts but in all honesty never share that much about me, not because I dont want to because those of you who know me I am sure you will agree I am always open and willing to share all about me, I just get a lot more out of sharing on other peoples journals than posting on my own, not sure why perhaps my life is boring lol but in truth just for today I am very happy with my life and all I have in it. I agree with you completely Geordie and you are right if I was gambling at this moment then nothing and no one could stop me it never did and it never would, I also agree totally when you say the people who give some of the best sound support to others do seem to gamble, I have seen this before and like you also righty say it is a shame we dont always practice watch we preach but then in defense (if there is a defense probably not in all fairness) I am a compulsive gambler and always will be. I know for a fact that this site has so many helpful and supportive people on it and it is an inspiration to see the support people give to each other on a daily basis. At ***** in my life I stop posting and sharing for one reason or another but I always read every elses and get my recovery boost that way. So I would like to thank each and every one of you for all your posts and replies as I know for a fact it helps me and so very many. Geordie thanks once again for you kind thoughts and I wish you all the very best in your recovery and also in your life. Just for today I am Maverick and I am a compulsive gambler, I have such a very strong and powerful addiction, everyday of my life I fight this addiction some days are so very hard and others a lot easier although never easy, the last time I slipped up I made a massive mistake I had stopped gambling for the longest ever time in my life and was doing really well in recovery but had a moment of madness and to be honest that is all in takes as the addiction is always ***** in wait just waiting for us to have a weak moment (as we all will). I have and will always respect everyone within recovery because I know myself how very hard it is to stay gamble free but one day at a time it can be done. Just for today I will not gamble and with that I am so very happy. So for those who really want to know my name is Maverick and I am a compulsive gambler and always will be, the last time I slipped up was 29/07/2011 as always thanks for listening and thanks again for everything you all do, wish you all well, take care and hope you all have a great long weekend love Maverick.
