I’m a compulsive gambler and would say I found the FOBTs (roulette machines), to be the most destructive form of gambling I’ve ever come across. They are frequently referred to as the crack cocaine of gambling, and I would agree with that.

I would go back to not carrying as much cash about. Yes of course there is the danger that something might pop up you need money for. But that danger is outweighed by the danger of being lured back into the bookies.
Self exclusion will not cure you of your gambling problem, in fact nothing will, but you can learn to say no to it.
