Wow been so many years now since I was a resident at our Dudley Gordon moody association !!
2007 if I remember correctly… 9 months course.
It taught me a lot about my self and made some really good friends.
More importantly it give me hope that stopping or sustaining from gambling was possible, after my 9 months I done around a year off of gambling until I had a bad car accident which wasn’t my fault and become really depressed with all my injury’s.
Shame really as I had gone and achieved a diploma in sports personal training and was creating my new life in a new area, this had all come to a stop and had to move back to my old area with a brain injury and many more injury’s from the accident.
It didn’t take long until one night out i was drinking with friends and wondered into a casino and started playing on those slots again.
“The demon returned”
Although the second run of gambling wasn’t quite as fierce as the first 15 years, all those old behaviours returned with it.
Trying to maintain a balance for those next years was terrible always having no money.
In Sept 2018 I stepped into my first GA meeting which was local to me and never looked back !!
I haven’t gambled since then and now have been running my own business for the last year and a bit.
There is hope ahead for everyone !!
Nearly 3. 1/2 years clean my self now.
P.s i wonder what happened to Arthur who use to run the treatment programme?
Thanks Gary
