Bettie! Somebody said “Pray as if everything depends on God,and act as if everything depends on you”! “ACT” is the operative word here…(pray too, of course). We can talk and pray all we like, but not until we put our thoughts into actions will we see changes!….Abusive lovers, in real life and in “slot” life can be kept at a distance, and while we are travelling the Recovery Road, maybe we will learn that we deserve better treatment than the type we have tolerated up to now. More to life than gambling Bettie! Much more! I’m trying to convince myself of that. I must be honest and and admit, I have so far not found a replacement for the “buzz”, but maybe I will just have to learn without it….one day at a time!….all the sevens

Heard on the grapevine he has moved house. I cannot understand his selfishness!..I’m on nights this week (7,12 hour shifts) but did a swap with someone so I’m reading!…

Congrats on your 8 month milestone Kathryn. ( And to Dames for not gambling either and on his milestone birthday!) Wasn’t it worth all the effort? I hope that party got off the ground. I couldn’t cope with that type of disorganisation either! It provides exciting reading, but the reality is nerve wracking! And I know how much you like to know what’s happening so that you can have some control Kathryn! Ah! well, by the time you read this, you’ll be recovering from the big bash and hubby will be all soppy and sentimental! Eight months is a long time to abstain from gambling. My tongue is hanging out because I’m panting, trying to catch up on you!all the sevens

Larry ( Paul)! I’ve been waiting for your 6 month mark to send my heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS ! I’m posting in advance of THE big DAY (like RG), because I won’t be awake early tomorrow morning and I don’t want my wishes to be late! I wish you lived near so that I could cook you a lovely steak to celebrate…nobody deserves recovery more than you. You’ve put so much of your time into this site that you deserve nothing but the very best….God bless and protect you every day in your continued attempts to overcome this addiction. You are an inspiration!……..all the sevens

Hi Larry!…i’ve spent the last couple of days trying to find your thread! And hey presto! P has already, not only found it , but said the same thing I wanted to say! I can’t believe it. well, I can really , because it’s so true and so obvious and about time that you got recognition for all the support you give to everyone on this thread. You are always, patient , polite and tolerant. Some day, I’m going to treat myself to a good read of all you have written. I never seem to get enough time but it’s on the agenda. You are always in my thoughts and prayers and for some reason, I feel the name Paul suits you better….God bless for now!..all the sevens

How come the kids always blame the parents when something goes wrong for them? I’ve had my belly full! Wait until the boys get older Kathryn. They are really good at it. How come it’s never the Dad’s fault?….Ah well! where would we be without them?… You must be edging up to the 7 month mark soon Kathryn?.. I got a new loan so now I have all my (scrambled) eggs in one basket. My repayments are pulled out over a longer period but will be less each month. I’m looking forward to checking my account online every month now ( I’ll most likely look at it every day) and I’m gonna get real greedy and stingy and never let another penny go astray!…one day at a time. My New thread will be SCROOGE!
