I forget/can’t figure out how to start a new topic. I think I read somewhere that Cat is not starting a MAY Pact? Maybe I dreamt it.
Anyway its the 1st day of May here on this side of the world so maybe a new beginning is in order.
Every day is a New Day but May 1st is SPECIAL!
    Here’s to a G free day.
I’m glad to see the back of April!
It wasn’t a G free month for me!
(I have to go to the hospital for tests on Friday. Dreading it . I HATE hospitals and I hate forking out money for tests. Private health insurance is a joke!)

“Actions are louder , it really is true
So rather than words think, “What can I do?”
    …………………………………………………………..
I can quash the first thought
I can “stomp on the bug”
    Postpone the next bet
    and withdraw from the “drug”
I can then call a friend
    Tell them what I intend
    And remind myself always
    Where gambling will end!
    Do things differently
    Look for new company
    Be accountable, honest,
    To you and to me
    I can hand over cash
Put credit cards in the trash
    Surrender my car keys
    Go down on my knees
    To pray or scrub floors
    Whatever it takes
    To keep me from making
    More stupid mistakes!
    Examine the tools
    That I got from GT
    To find out which one
    Today is for me
    I have no more excuses
    To use fancy words
    It’s time now for ACTION
    (GAMBLING IS FOR NERDS!)

    I hear you Madge!
    Life can be tough.
    Marriage is not easy.
    Despite addiction.
Its all about give and take.
Better or worse (If you have taken marriage vows)
It seems we either have to give all or give nothing.
    Stay or leave…
Can you stay and give all , or will you walk away?
    Only you can decide.
(just my present thoughts to let you know you have been heard)

Bettie, I hear you on Jen’s move to Georgia triggering gambling urges, but “forewarned is forearmed!” You know now , what you didn’t know then.
    Gambling doesn’t cure loneliness.
    Gambling won’t stop her moving.
    Gambling won’t bring her back!

Good to hear Easter went well for you Lizbeth!
Shame on your daughter for upsetting you again!
My youngest son specializes in that carry on!
He was here for the weekend. Behaved VERY well, UNTIL I was dropping him back tonight and he let fly in the car (always picks places where I can’t walk away) and roared and swore at me in front of my other son and his girlfriend.
I told him to cut out the drama and stop embarrassing himself.
Luckily, I didn’t end up in the casino like I used to in the past as a reaction to his behaviour.
    It takes two to tango!
