Are you still in GMA, Andrea?
I haven’t seen a post from you or Lauren lately. I take it you were both attending the same Group?
Dying to hear how it went!

I don’t know how long the Womens’ Programme runs for. Just want to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Counting days can make us patient or impatient, Micky.
I ticked off 365 G free days in 2010. I actually started ticking in late November 2009 and ticked until mid January 2011 Then like a clock that stops, the ticking ended.
I tend to count in advance for a lot of thinks. For example I count my monthly loan repayments in advance, mentally subtracting each month’s deposit, then I look back and see what I have paid and it gives a great sense of achievement. Of course, I say “look at all I would have now ,if I had been saying instead of repaying”, but it doesn’t work like that. No shuddas or cuddas. Just do what we have to do now. Counting days has pros and cons. We can hold our breath and explode when we reach our target, or we can use the tactic to measure our progress.

Maybe your dream of having a baby signifies the New Life you are planning and dreaming of, Jenna. Because you don’t trust yourself at present, you feel you could not be trusted to look after a baby.
Could you discuss that dream with your B/F?
When we are burdened with debt and past misdeeds (gambling) we feel vulnerable.
    Not trusting yourself is scary.
I know that feeling. Strangely I often dream I have just given birth. At my age it will always be a dream but some day, when the time is right, hopefully your dream will come true Jenna. CGs are very impatient. Did you read your poem to your B/F?

You have been on my mind all day, Liberty . I intended posting to ask about your counselling and if you had switched to someone new?
So sorry to hear about your dog. Pets really can become part of the family and are a big loss when they move on. We have had dogs over the years but I think I will just stick with the hens for now. Did you ever get a dog since?
    Three eggs today!

Thanks for the posts to my Thread Micky. I’m glad of the nudge to brush up on my musical knowledge and on my Irish Language.
I feel as if I’ve been asleep for about 15 years.

Yea that Enya song is nice, Micky but I can only take her in small doses. Its haunting music but as I said , repetitive.
Moya Brennan (Maire) is a better singer I think.
    Love your poem.
    Goodbye Gambling!

I think it did you good to look on and see the insanity of it all, Seri!
Think of how hard that guy worked for the money he threw away and how easy it is for the fatcats who empty those machines and laugh all the way to the bank!
    Gambling is a mug’s game!

    Welcome back, Jenna!
I was looking out for you.
Moving in with someone will change a lot of things.

The Brennans are a musically talented family, Micky. Enya has a haunting voice but Maire is a better singer in my opinion. For some reason they signed Enya up and got her to be the famous one. I like her singing “Marble Halls”. Ever hear it? The music on her albums is repetitive and a bit synthetic. When the family play together you get to hear the real raw talent.
She strikes me as a Sinead O Connor lookalike!

Hope you’re feeling a bit more upbeat Lauren
    Another day gone
Good to say it was gamble free but scary to think we will never get this day back
If you are stuck for petrol Just fill your tank and act shocked when your card refuses to register. I had to resort to that once or twice. The garage were lovely about it when I said “o dear!” or words to that effect!
Anyway, I called back when I had the money and paid them.
Do it ONLY if you’re badly stuck

    Great JD!
You really are making huge strides in recovery.
I hope it’s more than just not gambling?
I’m trying to think of life as something separate to gambling.
Because when I do zone out , gambling I seem to enter another world.
Part of me never wants to leave that “time warp”.
Part of me NEVER wants to revisit because it really is a foretaste of Hell.
I hope you are enjoying your boy and your wife.
Family links need to be strengthened one day at a time. Gambling weakens those important links.

This all sounds overwhelming, Gov but if you break it down it might help.
First you lost £ 400 last night.
Ask yourself how you got access to the card and how did you manage to gamble? (thought hubby was holding cards and looking after finances?)
Secondly, no matter how badly you feel you need to “replace” that four hundred, for God’s sake DO NOT try to get it by gambling or you’ll add another zero to your 400 and to your woes!
Next step and the most important one is your Health. Are you in the UK? Do you not have free health care on the NHS? Ca you discuss this with your GP and ask him for sick certs to give to work so that you will get your due benefits. I have been getting Illness Benefit since 2013 when I had to take early retirement on ill health grounds. It’s a two year scheme.
Did you tell your hubby about last night and about all your worries? You really need to have a chat with someone. We all need hurdle help at different times in our lives.
    Well done on posting here
Credit Cards are a curse for CGs because we just CANNOT handle them. I was in dispute with a CC Company for a few months I still owe them money They refused the “Settlement” I offered Now they have stopped my card. GOOD!!!
Is there any way yo can offer them a “Full and Final Settlement”? I did that 5 years ago with a different CC. Owed them over 8k They accepted 5500. That was the ending of my dealings with them
    A relief
Just take it easy today Gov. Losing money causes us to be in shock Don’t make any rash decisions until your mind is clear.
