Have a safe trip home Bettie.  I love hearing how comfortable all of you are with each other and how much you enjoy meeting.  Wonderful!

Some people give their unwanted opinions and remarks too freely.  They need to look at themselves because they have plenty of renovation that needs to be done within.

I hate my picture too so I know how you feel.  Beauty is within and your real beauty shows no matter what your weight.  My mom loves her picture taken.  She is 76 and always trying to get in the picture.  Maybe when we are old ladies we’ll finally be comfortable with our image. ha ha

Hi Larry.  I read your posts to others and find you so strong and committed that I was surprised to see you had strong urges today.  Guess I thought you (and Katherine and everyone that has made it years without gambling) were super heros and just here to help the rest of us. lol
I’m so happy to hear you didn’t gamble. If I could go back and change the Saturday I gambled, I would in a minute.  Congratulations for choosing not to gamble. I wish I would have!

Kathryn, all your life stories have had happy endings.  You write like a friend chatting over a cup of tea and that’s why I looked forward to whatever you had to share.  I am so sorry you had to go through the hard times…but so glad you were strong enough to not run back to the casino. You are an inspiration to all of us.  3 years is AMAZING!  Congratulations!

That’s too bad about the jealous person putting a damper on your excitement.  I work with one of those that always has a negative thing to say to try to ruin a positive feeling.  I agree with Velvet, express your excitement!
I also read daily.  I feel like I was part of your life years ago…the saga of Dames and the other child for one.  Kind of like watching a TV show and making sure I didn’t miss an episode! It’s also interesting to read the different expressions used in different countries.  There is definately more to this site then just trying to stop gambling.
Hope you get yourself a nice new bed.  We spend a third of our life in bed and you deserve one that’s comfortable.

Kathryn, you are an inspiration! Two years is amazing and truly life changing.  A vacation to Bali is well deserved reward.  Hope you have a wonderful time.

Bettie, I think people like us would never leave someone out.  We think of others so it is very hurtful when we are not treated like we would treat someone else. Your sponsor should have greeted you and made you feel like you two had a connection.  That’s how I feel anyway.  I was reading the AA big book and liked the way they pick someone up and have coffee and talk or get together after the meeting for fellowship.  I like that!  Everyone wants to be accepted so I don’t think your feelings are wrong.  You might need a different sponsor.  Someone more like you…caring and thoughtful.

Kathryn, I laughed when I read that your husband was cold and you shook him because it scared you.  I’ve done the same thing to my husband and he over-reacted over it too.  I’ve even nudged the dog because I thought he was too quiet for too long.  Would they ever worry about us like that?  You are amazing how you stopped gambling and stayed stopped…and are finally living.  That’s where we all want to be.  Good for you!

Welcome Nelly. You’ve taken some major steps to block any gambling.  Your kids and you deserve the good things money can buy (like food!).  Keep reading and keep posting.  You are not alone and you’ll find so much support here.

Thanks cat for carrying the tourch this month.  April feels like Spring time here in the US…clean and fresh.  A new month and a fresh start. Hope today is a gamble free day for everyone here. It’s never too late to find recovery.
