Apologies that i misunderstood.. i gues when he was rationing you things like food and cigarettes i thought that was nasty.. and presumed..
Glad you are not married to him lol..
What is most important, is your recovery.. health and happiness…P
pParticipantWell done on the pact, you are making it through, pay day will become just any day eventually, after a while money just becomes money as it was not what it becomes when we gamble if that makes sense..
A day at a time, just this day dont gambleP
pParticipantWell done.. the walk in the woods was a wonderful post.. you really described that well and it is a reminder to get out into the world for me.
Keep up the gamble free days, and i am glad you are trying counselling, i think its wonderful and yes it can make you feel crappy but its because you are processing probably things that have not been stirred up in a while, our thoughts and feeings get locked down when we gamble and when we stop they start to come to the surface.. keep going.. you are doing wellP
pParticipantA huge well done on your gamble free time. A day at a time you have shown it can be done and are living in recovery, well done on all the things you have implemented.. keep it going, its always there this addiction but its great its arrested.. it can stay that way one day at a time

Its always a relief for me to read when people are gamble free, because thats how it feels to be gamble free, relieved..
P
pParticipantWell done on coming for help its a huge step and a breathrough toward your recovery.. all that Laura said above is great advice, GA meetings, counselling.. Are you able to get your best friend to help control your finances, or your daughter etc..
Also the option of banning from where you gamble ..
You’ve made the first step. No matter how many attempts it takes.. keep trying. Try the chat groups, it is really helpful to talk it through when you get an urge and great to have some recovery friends. The best person to help you is you but you need support. and no one is better at helping another cg than a recovering cg..
All the best and keep postingP
pParticipantWell I am happy to hear that your procedure is over and done with and you are home safe and sound. Well done for going through that with no support.. I know what that is like but still to come home on the tube after an ordeal like that must have been a little tough..
Your partner sound so controlling i was so shocked to read he is like that, i have just caught up on some of your posts.. that must be hard to liveP
pParticipantI always love to read your posts and so glad to see that you are posting again. I hope to catch you again one day in chat sometime..
Don’t step into the ring! and baby steps, the advice you gave me when i was struggling and it really helped at the time too. You were a great help to me when we would chat Kin so thank you..P
pParticipantGlad to hear youre doing all those things.. it triggered in me a little desire to stop procrastinating.. I’m the queen of it at the moment.
Just for todayP
pParticipantThat is wonderful to hear
All we have to do is reach out. i often feel unsupported , I have learnt to do the same.. keep reaching out.
So pleased for you with your gamble free time..P
pParticipantIm in chat now i did it
P
pParticipantI miss you Carole
I miss our chats over the flavoured coffee.. I hope you are ok and reading on here.. i would so love to hear from you again
p
pParticipantWell done chicky
I am so proud of you IDI.. wow. Telling your mum was a huge step and has put a halt to something that was a huge trigger for you. This is your recovery, i see a big difference this time to any other times.. I think that switch flipped for you.
Its hard to explain isnt it but somehow after many times of trying and trying to stop, one time, the mind just somehow gets it or accepts it.. i see this in your posts…
Congrats IDI you deserve the gamble free life..P
pParticipantHow are things? What is happening for you today?
Give us an update when you canP
