You are really amazing.. i admire the way you live, the way you are there for everyone but also your healthy boundaries you are putting in too. Liz you have been through some heartbreak and have come out the other side and continue to do so without gambling, how good is that. Of all the times these stressful ones are perfect to send us back out there and you haven’t gone.. just so proud of you Liz.. keep doing what you are doing..

I am so happy to see you back posting again. It is good to know that you are ok and that while you have gambled, you are back for another shot at recovery. I used to love reading your posts.
I hope that maybe one day you will come into a group chat here so we can talk. It would be great. Ive relapsed many times myself but i keep coming back and trying my hardest with this recovery. Hang on to the support Izzi.. so good to see you. Things will get better again. You can do this you’ve done it before.

I am glad you were honest and said what happened.. I’m also glad that you immediately self excluded from the site. Be aware now that you could get way more urges than usual now you have had one bet, it tends to ignite the craving.. so maybe put things in place now to make it harder for yourself to gamble.. i think there is also an ex residents group on here for GM you could attend too if you wanted. Can you keep in touch with others from recovery and maybe build a little network of people to surround yourself with too. Keep close to the site, get back on track now if you can and dont discount your time clean just look at it as a hiccup in the road and continue on.. i sound like I’m dishing out advice to people left right and centred, just trying to help.. dont want to appear as a know it all but i just share what i think works for me. Hope to see you still posting soon

My god. i am so proud of you. For being truthful and honest and sharing with us. You had a slip, it was small, not much money lost and you are back here straight away which to me is absolutely amazing. Once i get a taste i am gone for months. I am so happy that you have shared instantly and you are already looking at blocking yourself again. Those Five years of recovery are still with you Kathryn. You gambled a few hours, and you have five years clean still. I am so happy you didnt just leave and not say anything. It takes courage to admit it after all that time. You are still a success. I am in awe of you making five years and i am in awe that you have had a little blip but are back so quickly. I guess i thought it could never happen but i hear the stories of people having x amount of time up and going back out there.. keep it a slip and not a relapse… i can tell you, it just continues on otherwise and gets worse. Come back to the forum more and maybe the chat groups if you can. I dont know if i will make it but my journey is so much nicer for having people like you in it. Stay strong K. You are ok.

It sounds as though your life is just improving all round and that you are learning whats good for you and whats not good for you in recovery.. i was always warned off drinking too by my counsellor. She said that it is one of the biggest reasons of relapse. People drink lose their normal thought process and they are out there again.. maybe dont carry such large amounts of money on you either just to be safe.
You are doing really really well and hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration.
