I just love your posts .. i hope that you keep posting, i love to read them. so selfish i am hahaha… and i love hearing of your days, your progress, your thoughts. i totally get where you are coming from about animals.. my animals are part of my family and i adore them like they are my children. They are there to share our journey how lucky we are to have shared a journey with these beautiful animals.. i am sure you would have spoilt your dog rotten and what a wonderful life you would have given to it…
I hope your days today are gamble free and you are in a good place.. keep posting. You are very creative in your writing and your poetry.. that could be your calling.. who knows. I think you are talented.

That is so wonderful to hear your progress through GMA.. well done in the first place for getting that help. What a wonderful thing that you did to help yourself. I find GA meetings like that too.. you can openly say what you want without being judged and there is an understanding in those rooms that is very hard to find elsewhere. So good you have gone through this therapy with GMA you are lucky to have their insights.. what do you think is the thing that helped you the most.. what clicked.. if you dont mind me asking i love to always ask this question to people what helped them the most in their journey.. what helped me the most was the support i have here and elsewhere after reaching a very painful rockbottom. Hope you keep posting and sharing your journey

Well done on your gamble free days. I think with compulsive gambling you dont need to be an every day gambler.. its just what happens when you do gamble. For me once i start i cant stop.. so i cant start. Its the same every time, its never different only getting worse. It is good the steps you are putting in place, whatever works for you, if thats excluding if you can do it where you are, Gamblers anonymous meetings, counselling, coming here, there are lots of options. Throw all you can at this addiction its a very sneaky one.

Well done on the steps you have taken so far to stop gambling, be proud that you have done something about your addiciton, reaching out for help is often the hardest thing. GA meetings are wonderful.. for me anyway, not eveyone likes them but i find them incredibly beneficial. It is anonymous, its a safe place to go and somehow i always walk out feeling better than i walked in.. cant say the same for when i gambled!! What have you got to lose by going.

    Hi Jenna

I think its normal to feel the way you are, the good thing is it sounds like your mind set is in recovery and out of addiction at the moment because you can see the insanity that gambling was. The serenity prayer is a good one for the situations where you think of the past and you cant change it. It was teaching you to get to where you are now. Maybe had you not gambled and been through this you may not have appreciated those little things nearly as much today. Just a thought. You are doing well.. keep going. Dont be hard on yourself.. addiction doesnt discriminate. You have done well to stop and use support.
