You answered that really well idi , good on you for thinking through all the reasons not to do it, hope your over the flu soon . 🙂
mickyParticipantBeen to work, now happily at home doing normal at home things, life is good.
mickyParticipantYou keep mentioning doing the lottery idi , i don’t think it’s hard compulsive gambling buying a ticket once a week , i buy a raffle ticket at the quiz night , i think a lottery ticket is £2 for one ticket. Not sure what percentage of non gamblers buy lottery tickets but it must be quite a few.
mickyParticipantWent to bed early last night with a proper bad headache , feel alot better today. I do a to do list the night before the next day and it’s a great feeling when i cross all the things off the list, far better than wallowing in self pity after a gambling binge for days on end.
mickyParticipantWent to the fortnightly quiz last night and thoroughly enjoyed it , been into town today and visited the library amongst other things, i’m enjoying life . life is good, i choose life.
mickyParticipantFeeling stressed and anxious and identifying the urge and not gambling just shows how far you have come in your recovery. Your doing it i-d-i 🙂
mickyParticipantRe-discovering or discovering either or, it’s a great feeling isn’t it, which clothes? , new clothes? your benefiting from not doing you know what. 🙂
mickyParticipantShort term pain
long term gainThat says it all for me for the next 6-7 months most of my spare money is going towards paying my debts, planning what to do with the spare money after that is a must and i’m working on that now ( thanks to idi for warning me) thats when the real problem will kick in and i have so much spare money.
mickyParticipantOn my rest days at the moment, a beautiful day outside. I had my first tennis lesson yesterday and really enjoyed it, i will be playing for fun as i do badminton. Plans for today , shopping , take library book back, post a letter, come home make dinner, life is good.
mickyParticipantHi Laura thanks for your post on my thread, good advice as always. Hope your recovery from surgery goes well .
mickyParticipantSo true idi today and everyday is about you, that is why you are into week 6 , your doing it your way and it is working for YOU.
mickyParticipantA nice relaxing Sunday today. Recognising triggers is a must , when things go wrong in my life I recognise this can lead me to you know what. Stepping back and looking at the big picture really helps me put things into perspective.
mickyParticipantDay 11 and i’m just out of bed after doing a 12 hour shift, looking forward to today watching the rugby with my partner . Thoughts of gambling are zero .
mickyParticipantWhat a brilliant post, so positive , onwards and upwards as you have previously said , hope your over the flu soon .
mickyParticipantDay 10 and just got home from visiting my fathers strewn area (i’m always drawn to the big oak tree there) it’s 15 years since he passed away, iv’e told him of my plans and current situation. Life is so good and being in control of my choices is even better.
