Hi Mav was just about to write something similar on my thread perhaps we are walking the same path at the moment, i was going to write i am normal , that there is a million others like me who normally gamble to oblivion so i must be normal or at least normal to them . Your normal to me mav we share the same addiction and that makes me the same as you my friend , all we can do is keep fighting and hoping one day we will overcome this hell.
mickyParticipant1. Not gambling. ( Life’s easier without it)
2.Being clean. (It feels good to put clean clothes on)
3.Enjoying life. ( Even small things like a cup of tea and watching the news)
4.Respecting money. ( Even small amounts go a long way – try poundland )
5.Accepting. ( Even if we do gamble we lose in the end)
mickyParticipantHappy Christmas to all of you on G.T. and may you all sleep well tonight on our lords birthday .

mickyParticipant“Hope is a great source of strengh”
mickyParticipant“It’s about getting off the path , that’s where the freedom lies”.
“Do not follow where the path may lead”.
“Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”.
mickyParticipantHappy normal days are just so precious getting up having a coffee, planning a nice normal day and looking back at the end of it and thinking life isn’t so bad after all. I can do this now i no longer gamble and drink alcohol uncontrollably , life is good .
mickyParticipant3 Things to be grateful for today ;
1, Security 2. Freedom 3, Peace.
mickyParticipantLove the post about saying no it’s a small word but can mean so much, “peer pressure” comes to mind when people try to convince you to do something you do not want to do ๐ .
mickyParticipant1. Being clear headed.
2. Being focused.
3. Being able to share my thoughts on GT.mickyParticipantHi Steve thanks for your post on my thread it means alot when someone acknowledges something positive i say. Hope you sort your debt out i used the stepchange dmp, was well worth it i paid it off alot sooner than i would have done if i had tried to on my own. ๐
mickyParticipantFor any newcomers to the G.T. site you can turn your life around it may not be easy but “Rome wasn’t built in a day” . Put the effort in and you will do it, it has taken me many years to get my life back on track. Staying focused everyday is very important , recognising the negative thoughts , signs and triggers early so you can re-act in a positive way to them is something i have trained my brain to do. learning to say no is very important in my life now it’s only a two letter word but a very powerful one. For me it all has to be done one day at a time .
