Hi Bonkers
I have just posted on your thread. I still read from time to time but not as often as I used to, but have been able to have a good catch up this evening. Cant believe it has been so long since I posted on the site. Glad you enjoyed the F Valli tribute we have been to a few concerts/shows recently and are going to see Steve Harley in Manchester on Saturday. Life is very busy here looking after the wee ones now daughter is back at work, but loving every minute of it. Catch ya again soon. Loobs xlooby looParticipantHi Bonkers
Been reading a bit here this evening. Glad to see that all is still going well for you and your family. Little man will be 1 in 2 weeks time on 15 May – cant quite believe where the year has gone and grandaughter starts school in September, both as cute as can be. We have a family holiday planned for next week to Menorca – should be fun. Take care Loobs xlooby looParticipantHi Bonkers

looby looParticipantJenny, there will always be HOPE and it may happen, it may not. I am glad you can see that your life can continue and that the hope is there for him possibly to succeed one day in the future. Yes those in recovery have to be commended for their determination. Wishing you a bright, sunny day. Everyone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loo
looby looParticipantHi Jenny
Hope you and the boys enjoy the weekend together, eventful or not x It is sad that he still cannot grasp ‘recovery’ after 2 attempts at GH ! I am sure we will never understand it (wanting to or otherwise)….How could we ? I read in your post continued strength and determination going forward in YOUR life and that is so great to read. Keep on keeping on and you will go far. Your boys achievements in their schooling are credit to you. So glad to see you post, even though I know how hard that is to do. xxEveryone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loolooby looParticipantHi Bonkers
We are good ta, grandson is a little beauty ๐ Glad that life is still treating you grand and I also hope the convo you had with the guy has helped him, but as you know he has choices and ultimately it will be down to him.
Dirty Dancing sounds fab, I have a couple of friends who have seen it in the smoke and really enjoyed it. We went to see Hairspray in Birmingham last week – 6 girlies, had a fab time, train, coffee, shopping, lunch, show, train – perfect day.
Catch you again soon. xEveryone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loolooby looParticipantHi Kathryn

I brought you to the top, to see if you are ok ? Thinking about you and your family and hoping that things are steady as they can be xEveryone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loolooby looParticipantHi Jenny/V
Thanks for asking about me, how are you doing ?
Things have definitely been up and down, but the gambling episode hasn’t affected us really, we have been far to busy with other stuff and its not our problem. Son did come to his uncle’s funeral and has seen his new nephew too, at only a week old.
In answer to your questions V, I don’t know how long the abstinence was, I don’t know what support he has (probably none) I believe it was a ‘full blown’ and yes his barriers have to go up again and he knows it ………………………….. Our grandson is gorgeous and our time and thoughts have been with the kids and our sister in law. So sorry to read you have been unwell, hope you are feeling tip top again now ?
Son due to visit next weekend again, we are away with grandaughter Tuesday until Saturday and will catch up with him when we are back……………………..
I have finished working for the charity, as it was running out of funding, but was asked to do some medical typing at our local hospital on Mon/Tues each week, that, combined with helping with the kids, seeing my own friends and upkeep of our home certainly keeps me more than occupied – how ever did I manage to work full time ????
I do read every day, but of course don’t always have the time to post as much as I used to, but I do think about all my friends here on a very regular basis – where are you Monique ?????

looby looParticipantHey Bonkers, hope you enjoyed the Jersey Boys and the meet up at GH. Still no baby boy, he is obviously too comfy in mummy’s tum. Daughter having small procedure to see if it will encourage him on Monday, if not induction planned for next weekend, so imminent any way round. Glad to hear things are progressing well with your daughter/grand daughter, as you say Onwards and Upwards mate Everyone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loo
looby looParticipantHi Vera

We are good thank you. Our celebrations were lovely, and we are off to London on Sunday to see The Jersey Boys, pre-show dinner and travel – a gift from a few of our family/friends ๐ We plan to meet up with son in London for a coffee too. How is your son ? Hope you and your family are okay. Much love xEveryone has a destiny, it's up to us whether we choose to follow it though !Looby Loolooby looParticipantHi Bonkers
What a lovely update. So glad you enjoyed your break away and your job is safe ๐ You are right, you should never forget, but you are living proof that life can be good, if recovery is embraced fully. Get on with your life as best you can knowing that your continued recovery is in your hands. I am glad you have seen your grandaughter and hopefully over time the wounds can be healed(our new grandson is due in less than 4 weeks too – special *****). On the music front we are off to see The Jersey Boys in London on Sunday, with a pre-show dinner and travel all paid for – a gift from a few family/friends for our 30th Wedding Anniversary a couple of weeks ago, so looking forward to it. Take care of you. x
