We feel so much better when we don’t risk what we work for. Just think… no gambling hangover. That in itself should keep us away.

Keep moving in the right direction IDI. You are doing Great!! Gambling has nothing to offer but pain, shame & misery. I am excited to see what life brings without it.. We can do this. No one can stop us but us!

It is silly Austin! I can not tell you how many times I wanted to just play for a little while and maybe win a few hundred and than ended up loosing a few thousland and than lost several thousnad chasing the few.. and than after the money was gone I would have to scramble for only a few hundred.  Absolutely insane!!  Wasted so much time&energy repeating the same cycle.  Yup I live the definition of insanity ”repeating the same thing and expecting different results. Hopefully that cycle is over for good.

Austin, you are doing great don’t end up back at square one. My last couple relapses were while I was working out of town. I would definitely take Steve’s advice.

    Day 23

“Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow”. Proverbs 13:11

This holds true… How many of us have won money only to blow it right back and than end up on the chase. I am going to guess each and everyone here.

Sorry Meghan. Way to go getting right back on track, as most of us, at least myself would of kept chasing. “Just give me my money back than I will quit” “ just give me half back.” Etc etc. It scares me how easily we can get sucked right back in. I am truly happy that you were able to stop and recognize where you went wrong, admit it and carry on. Prayers my friend.

IDI! Forget about “ the windfall!” I believe the windfall will only come after we stop gambling. It might not be in the form of money and materialistic things. It might be peace, joy , true happiness etc. The rewards of not torturing ourselves.

I enjoy reading your posts. They help. You seem to be doing well and working hard at staying g free. I remind myself daily that “I rather struggle with not gambling than struggle with the aftermath of giving in”

You are an inspiration Liz. It’s a life long battle that’s for sure. Thoughts come and go BUT I intend to do what it takes and not give into them. For me that is staying one step ahead of my addiction and reminding myself of what I never want to experience again …. “The gambling hangover” Keep doing what is working..
