    Hi Tango
It’s the beat feeling to have money in your account – it’s symbolic but it also gives us options .
It’s interesting-that you got annoyed about the out of date food , especially when you compare it to how much we have wasted in our lives . After we stop gambling it is difficult to to normalise how we feel about money/ waste etc .
I remember spending hundreds online and then going to the cheapest supermarket and buying the cheapest food -and yet still finding enough money to gamble again.
I am so glad I can afford nice food now .

Well done on your gamble free tome and really well done on
Replacing the addiction with something healthy like cycling .
    You are doing really well!

    Hi Stephen
You are got lots of good advice on here – I am sorry things have gotten so bad – perhaps a little time out of work would help- you seem to be under tremendous pressure right now .

Debts will wait – they can’t get water out of a stone !
    Mine have waited years !

Just look after yourself Stephen – you are more important than any money !

    Hi Monica
So pleased u shopped in a posh shop .
In the past few weeks I have bought a lot of clothes – but all from Asda, Tesco and similar shops .
Maybe next month I will follow your example and get a facial!
See how u inspire me !

There are so many people dying young we should be grateful for every minute .

Well done on being assertive with your son- perhaps he will get to see the Pete you see when he lives with you. We all grow and change .
Like you the land based casino never tempts me (except when my mum asks me to go ) I can carry cash anywhere and it would never cross my mind to go in – it was always online for me so I get exactly what you mean- and I guess this just reinforces that one size doesn’t fit all.

Sorry I missed group – actually went out with my little family and had a lovley night !

I have friends who work in crèches and would you believe that some professional parents actually go home, eat their dinner in peace and the return for their child at closing time ? This shocked me .
I think even though we have an addiction in many ways we are better parents than many!

I think this baby sitting job will make way for others – you will gain a reputation when people see you out and about with baby and others will want to book your services at full rate .

Well done on all the positive action you are taking

I get that Tango – about buying ordinary stuff . I was delighted because we had roast lamb for dinner on Sunday !
Of course it has become extraordinary to us – we need to get used to spending our money on what we need or want instead of our addiction.

    Keep strong and keep posting

    Hi Monica
Hope all is good with you and work is going well.
Thank you for your advice on my work thing and you were spot on. I am going to remember that in future if I am worried.
I can see how you progressed so far in our career .

I would be asking you to mentor me if we worked together – you have amazing insight .

    Much appreciated
    Xx

    Hi Lizbeth
So sorry to read you gambled – it is so hard to stop and there is always another casino .

But hey … a massive well done and congratulations on getting that job – it won’t feel like work at all!
And how great will it be to catch up on some bills .

The creditors won’t get fed up while they are getting their money – even if it is a little late . They know ahi is better than the alternative where they get nothing.

I remember about six years ago asking for repayment plans with my creditors and they were most unhelpful .
I rang them all back again a few days later – said I was declaring bankrupt but would GIVE THEM once last chance to work with me and they did !
They are getting paid in full – I am not being harassed – win all round !

This job will give you a new lease of life and bring another young one into your life to love – it will also be a good distraction from gambling .

Life is starting to look real good Lizbeth !

Hi Tango My thread often ends up a rant too. I guess better out than in .

Can I second what you just said about Kathryn – have never found her anything other than wonderfully supportive. beautiful person !

Keep doing whatever works – I went to a pretty awful GA- although maybe it was just me – I hate group sharing situations of any kind and your name was called out and you were meant to speak – like on a roll. It was just horrible and uncomfortable.

Therefore I am glad to read of your positive  experience – some people swear by ga so it might be worth your while finding andother group. Hope all is going well Keep strong !

    Hi step-by-step ?

Did u by any chance replace gaming addiction with gambling addiction? That can happen !

I know how ashamed gambling makes us feel and to be honest I hate being labelled too and there should be no need for labelling people in this century – most educated people and intelligent people now realise that labels are unhelpful, derogatory and limiting . I wouldn’t want to be called a gambler or ex-gambler either .

A massive well done to you for seeking help and support. You will find lots of non – judgmental support on here . If you can put barriers in place like a gambling blocker on your internet devices it will also help if you have a moment of weakness .

You are young – you have your whole life ahead of u . U will recover and never look back !
