Days Since Last Betting: 341
One month into 2022 already, Happy overall with how the month went, no gambling, regular forum visits and posts, ok diet. Exercise was somewhat limited throughout so that continues to be an area for improvement going into February.
G RecParticipantWelcome to the forum jvr3419 and well done on taking a positive step recognizing your problem, and taking action.
You mentioned self-excluding from every site which is a good step. Have you put in place or considered any other barriers to make it more difficult to gamble, for example having someone else help manage your finances, or software blockers?
If you haven’t done so, I strongly recommend the new members groups held on Mondays and Thursday which I found very useful when I first joined. There Charles will give great advice on some additional next steps you can take including barriers as mentioned.
G RecParticipantCongrats on 327
January has started fairly well. Back into more of a routine as planned with an improved diet after the holiday period. I have not started exercise back yet, that will be my main target for this week.
G RecParticipantHi itreallysucks.
Welcome to the forum and well done on taking a positive step recognising the issue and seeking help.
As Dunc mentioned there are new member’s groups on Mondays and Thursdays. I found these extremely useful when I first started posting, and would strongly recommend giving them a go, here Charles will provide some great advice and next steps that can be taken to help reduce the chances of going back to betting.
Regular posting can also be helpful, how have things been since your first post?

Since my last post, I realised my gamble-free days count has been off for a while, and I actually have an extra 12 days, I am seeing this as a good sign that being further removed from my last gambling day, not needing to monitor the count so exactly.
This week I plan to get back to a bit more of a regular routine after the more off-beat schedule that is the holiday period with regular forum visits, exercise, and improved eating habits.
G RecParticipantHi sjc,
Sorry to hear you are having difficulty getting past Day 1. From reading other posts here, and my own experience, putting barriers in place to make it more difficult to gamble can be a great starting point.
Have you put any barriers in place to try and help be gamble-free? Related to this, if you haven’t done so yet, there are new members meetings on Mondays and Thursday which can be very helpful, there Charles can give you advice and suggest next steps including barrier options.G RecParticipantWelcome to the forum sjc1 and well done on taking a positive step recognising the problem and posting.
How have you been doing the past few days?
G RecParticipantDays Since Last Betting: 306
Had a very enjoyable holiday period, glad to report no gambling or urges. Now looking forward to continuing 2022 in the same fashion. Hoping to get back to a bit more of a regular routine over the next week.

Really looking forward to the Christmas and New Year period.
G RecParticipantHi Cruising247,
Well done on Day 48. It is great to hear you are looking forward to a nice Christmas with your family gamble-free.
G RecParticipantHi vintagehoby,
Welcome to the forum and well done on taking a positive step admitting the problem, and looking for help/support.
As CraigMac6 mentioned, you are not alone, most people on here will be able to relate to life-changing for the worse due to gambling, and come to this forum to try and change that.
New member groups take place here on Mondays and Thursdays, I would recommend checking those out as a great starting point where you can receive specific advice on some practical steps you can take.
How have the first few days since posting been going?
G RecParticipantDays Since Last Betting: 288
Thanks for the kind words and support kin. Similar report to last week, very happy with how December has been going, and plan to continue that on into hopefully a good Christmas and New Year, starting 2022 from a good place.

Well done on previously reaching 2.5 years gable free. Sorry to hear that you recently went back to gambling, but if you got to 2.5 years before, you can do it again and more.
Have you put in any new barriers, or processes to limit the opportunities and chances of going back to gambling?
G RecParticipantDays Since Last Betting: 284
Happy with how December has been going so far, mostly hitting the targets I set out with only exercise lacking. Planning to keep that up as we approach Christmas, and then looking forward to the Christmas and New Year period.

Thanks, Amber_Disfordone. I should clarify that it actually took me 5 attempts to get this far. Attempt 3 was when I joined the forum and started the thread, but had 2 relapses before the current gamble-free period.
