it seems absolutely forever since we have connected! Happy belated Straya day! I’m glad to stop by and catch up on your news. So if my calculations are correct it is 3 or 4 days until you will have your big loan payed off! Wohoooooooooooooooooo! I am currently labouring under my own “big” loan as you know, actually I have two 🙁 Slowly but surely over the last three years I have been faithfully making my payments. They were the cost of saving my home after I gambled us into major debt. Three more years to go! But as suggested I haven’t strapped myself to the point that I can’t enjoy some of the little things in life. By little I mean money for treats, a coffee budget, a take out budget, most recently a small trip. I am grateful for second chances. Take care my beautiful Aussie friend, the time change cannot come round fast enough for me! stopping in for a long overdue coffee. Good to hear you turned off the auto pilot! Every time I’ve been tempted lately it’s the thought of turning on the monster that has kept me away. I so need reminders though because some times it could be easy to make a plan to gamble. The desire to tune life out for a little while. Has something in your personal life been bothering you? moreso than usual? Or could it have been the opposite? Don’t know if knowing why makes a difference but it can add to your awareness I think. Well my friend in recovery, time for me to some of my step work. I have a 10am phone call to discuss! and it is now 9am. That is on my list of faults, procrastination! Take care larry!

I wish that hug could heal the pain in your heart and heal your gambling addiction. I’m so glad that you came here to receive the support you need at this time. I have seen a big change in you this past while and I know that this will bring more change. I always told you that you were the strongest person I know. Realize that you have that strength. You will be ok 🙂

sorry to hear that the urges have been stronger for you. Keep focusing on getting through the day as you are. They are adding up again and hopefully the further you get from your last bet the further you will get from those strong urges. We can’t control tragedies but we can control our recovery. Keep on giving your grand daughter the gift of her grandfather’s presence (in all ways) in her life. The better man that you are working on will only serve all your loved ones 🙂 Stay strong Larry. quick check in. Have to get ready for work in a few minutes. Neck pain and nerve pain is noooooo fun. I have compressed disc and a bulging disc in my neck and nerve problems radiating down both arms. Only good thing is not major pain in my arms. If you are having a lot of nerve pain can they try you on Lyrica? It is specifically designed for nerve related pain and is not a narcotic. I feel as though I should ask you to forgive me. For not being here with a cuppa more often in support. Know that your experience may help me to avoid making plans of my own. I have to travel some distance to see a specialist in the near future. I have been wrestling with thoughts of how to fit in a little gamble as I’ll be where no one will know me. How is it those voices begin to sound like they are making sense? I’m so glad to hear that Maverick is stronger than ever and I know this will be the case with you. Gambling brings us nothing but pain. Even if there is a short term high the price is too much to pay. Bless you Larry. I take your hand and reaffirm my pledge with you. Just for today I will not gamble.

I’ll say a prayer for the thieves too because who knows their story and would I want to live it? Probably not! I’m having a lazy day at home today. Just finishing long morning coffee, my favourite. Now breakfast and a walk with the dog. Got some reading and posting in for a change too. I’m afraid that fall has finally arrived 🙁 Summertime goes too fast. I’m still staying away from the slots.
