    Hi Bettie,
I think we end up beating ourselves up for along time while we binge on gambling. Its a vicious circle. We hope to find the magic money bag but leave with nothing but freyed nerves and anxiety that leaves us just deflated and with the realization of what we just did. Why do we continue to forget those feelings the next time we walk through the doors of a casino. ???

One thing for sure worth mentioning is how happy I was to see so many familiar people still here. it felt like coming home. The names are recognizable more and more and I look forward to staying connected to you guys.
I have always been a positive person in every area of life so it makes it easier to get through things I think. I also feel that I am flawed and that is why I can’t gamble. I admit that if it wasn’t so costly I would be there in a NewYork Minute.
So I can’t allow myself opportunity to go.
I hope in time the desire to go diminishes and I will learn to be content with the great life I have and realize there is enough other things to make me happy and keep me busy.xoxoFG

slow slow night at work so I am home quite early. Thanks for dropping in always happy to hear from you (P) . In the past i may have run to a casino thinking I had time to spare to play, instead I’m running home to chill and write on my journal. That’s progress for sure.
Its so nice I might go for a relaxing swim not the workout type. its 23 c out there and very calm., I just wish someone could join me and I feel bad getting hubby up tonight. Oh well its not the end of the world. I’ll bring my music out that will help.xoxoFG

Thanks Cat for that. I find moments when I really want to reach out to others and in doing so it inspires me to do better and to be a better person.
Its also inspiring to read about how other ga’s cope with this insanity that can control our lives and take our souls.
I think we have talked as well in the past. Am I right??
I did in fact have an awesome day and weekend.
We had a wonderful meal made by Korean girls who are here for the summer. They made the meal at my home and we shared it with 8 other people. It was a typical meal they would serve on special occasions like birthdays.
Its really nice to do things that are not only fun but interesting as well
I return to work tomorrow for another gamble free week. Its good to know I.m paying off dept and not throwing away money in a casino. Progress is being made. xoxoFG

If this is the first time you have seeked out help then his is a really good place to be. ASk lots of questions and research all you can on addiction.
it is amazing on what you can learn. Your first priority is to lockdown any cash flow you might have. tear up credit cards and get yourself on track to pay bills and do a budget to resume your life in a more natural way. What were the things you did before you gave all your time to gambing. We often loose not just money but ourselves and also our memories of what life is like without gambling.
We loose sight of who we are and need to reassess the things that are important. I don’t at all understand online and I have never tried it and never will simply because I can’t trust what I don’t see right in front of me. I need to see and touch. That being said I have learnt to look around and really see what goes on in casinoes.I realize there are so very few who actually win much at all. Most of the people are just trying to win back what they have lost . What sense does that make. We breathe such a sigh of relief when we leave with what we came with. Isn’t that crazy in itself. Why not find more tangible ways to enjoy life and when we can spend a little on ourselves let it be something that means something or actually is real.XOXOFG

I had a really nice day (after my dentist appt) , went for a nice dinner out with hubby and paid for it myself and that felt good knowing I had the extra cash and didn’t expect my hubby to pay.
Enjoyed finding a few treasures for my loved ones that were awesome deals.
Called over my good friend and enjoyed the company. It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed a few gin and tonics and a good laugh.
Then a late night movie with my hubby to top it all off. Slept like a baby xoxFG

glad you were able to find a way to pay off the cards. Even when you were so upset about your grandson. Things aren’t always in our control, and I have come to realize that they will be less and less in our control as our own chldren take on their own lives and will make mistakes that we wish they didn’t have to make. Its hard when they don’t want our advice but as i’ve witnessed with my own lately they will make mistakes dispite our input. It can’t be avoided it seems. Its time to move on and find ways in which to inrich our own lives through other ways.
Time to try things we never could when raising our own children. xoxoFG

this is a rock bottom situation I would think and during this time I hope you place yourself in basic lockdown. Through out, cut up and remove any access to money that can be spent in a casino, including any other type of gaming house.. Is there someone you can find support from?? A ga meeting and support person to help talk you down when urges strike. We often refuse to listen to ourselves when we trigger ourselves to go, but that too must change in order to stop.
I have always had the most success when I tighten up my controls. It is extremely important not to become complacient EVER that is when trouble will arise. The gamble monster will rear its ugly head when ever it finds your not alert.
Remember God helps those who help themselves. Don’t loose faith when you fail. Look for strenght instead. xoxFG

hey Liz, I.m sure most of us are in the same boat from time to time. That time to time may be more often for some more than others. I can suggest that you try giving up cards and debits and try living with cash only. It dosen’t always work but it will change how we spend. Money is tangible and when its gone its gone. cards just let u think there is money when all there really is, is more dept we have to pay off. I love to shop but instead of going to the name brands I now go to value village the charity stores and its so much fun leaving with a great find like toys for my grand children. They are so happy getting little treasures and I love the fact that it cost me a fraction of what it could have cost in regular stores. My daughter is on board too and we have a ball shopping with each other. One example is I bought a Mcstuffins specialty doll for 40 and ended up finding one out of the box in perfect condition for 2 dollars and gave it to my other grand dollar and she was thrilled to have it . Its a challange to not gamble every day and I think about it every day. I love it so much that if i could I would live in a casino. I wish there was a way to just print money and have it be available when ever I had the urge. No money tree in the back yard though. Toooo bad. Thank goodness I have no access to money for now. Chin up and enjoy life ok

just think about how much you saved by not gambling and now you have something to show for it.
I’m a big believer in rewards for not gambling xoFG
