Hi,
Thanks for catching up! I had a minor relapse but in the grand scheme of things not a lot of money, still not good I know but 1 isn’t bad for me, I told my wife. The first few days I found it easy not to gamble, it does get a bit harder then though when you are over your loss! Still focused though, still going to the gym and booked a holiday for Feb which will be good reflecting time! Hows things with you?
Merry Christmas all!
chrisaParticipantDay 3 – no gambling and staying focussed, feeling much better to be honest and accepted that I can’t get the money back which helps. Gym again today, helps me to focus on something although it was tough today as I had a bit of wine last night!
Stay strong people!
chrisaParticipantHi Laura – thanks for your reply! I did shut them all down, self excluded for the max period to avoid temptation of reopening. My wages go into my wifes account so she fully manages the finances now which definitely helps although its easy to get a quick loan so still need to be focused!
chrisaParticipantHi RGC,
I know how you are feeling, there is little worse than having life changing amounts at your fingertips and blowing it all. I did that recently with similar amounts and it made me feel sick for the 1st few days. It’s happened a few times and that’s why I joined this site, there is nothing like it to make you realise gambling is dangerous and we aren’t very good at it! Keep strong and look forward as hard as it is.
chrisaParticipantThanks for your comments, it really does help! Day 2, feeling better today, talked to my wife who is uber supportive and went to the gym yesterday 1st time in ages, helps to keep me focused.
No gambling today.
chrisaParticipantthanks Laura – 1 day at a time, and hope sharing and reading others stories is going to help!
