    Hi Jagger,

I see from your other thread that you are going to see a lawyer.

All I can recommend is to follow his legal advice. If there is any threat to you or your families safety then I would urge you to contact the authorities.

Hi Lynsey, well done on looking for help.

Reading the other threadds here you will see many things that you relate to. You will also see the success stories, what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?

You realise that pay day will be a test for you? Good, now you can use that knowledge. What barriers can you put in place? Who can heol your wages? Who can you be accountable to so that you can’t gamble secretly? You can also get yourself banned from your usual gambling establishments/sites before you get paid.

Keep posting and let us know what positive steps you are taking.

Hi Alex, well done on looking for help.

It’s good that you realise that you are a Compulsive Gambler. This is a gambling addiction so here are a couple of things for you to think about.

Firstly are the slots in the same location that you go to place your sports bets? If so, as an addict, it will make it hard for you to avoid them.

My second thought is that whilst it’s the slots that are currently causing the problem the addiction doesn’t really care how it gets it’s fix. Cut out those slots, and try and continue with other forms of gambling, then those other forms of gambling could very soon become a problem.

    Keep posting.

    Hi Eric,

A couple of points spring immediately to mind.

First of all stop researching those football picks. You are just teasing your addiction and making things difficult for yourself. If you are a sports fan then enjoy watching your football. If you can’t then maybe you aren’t so much a fan as just someone who likes to gamble on it?

The second point is that the amounts you are contemplating gambling tell me that you have too much easy access to money. How can you limit that access? How can you make yourself accountable?

A final point would be that you realise youself that you are an addict. In the unlikely event that you won that 50k back would an addict really stop then? You have found yourself in a financial hole, when in a hole the best advice is to stop digging.

    Keep posting.

Salut Low Life.

Hola Low Life.
