It was a good poem then Vera, it is a good poem now. I hope you feel that the “pale flickering flame” has now grown brighter though 🙂 That is not by chance, it’s due to your efforts in the past year.

Era um bom poema então Vera, é um bom poema agora. Espero que você sinta que a "chama pálida e bruxuleante" agora está mais brilhante 🙂 Isso não é por acaso, é devido aos seus esforços no ano passado.

Hi Linds, well done on looking for help. Blocking your phone is a good first step.

What other barriers can you put in place? How can you limit your easy access to funbds with which to gamble? Maybe someone could help you with accountability?

If those slots have taken over your life then you need to find other, more positive thigns to fill your time. It helps to plan your day, fill both your time and thoughts away from gambling.

Keep posting and hopefully I will meet you in one of the groups we have here soon.

It’s good to hear you are so determined Roberto. Read the other stories here, what sort of thing is helping others that you can apply to your own situation? What barriers can you put in place?

As you say, there is just one thing you have a problem with – what other positive activities are you going to be doing to fill your time?

    Keep posting.

When you were here before what things helped? What barriers did you put in place and can again? What other support can you use?

Read the other stories here, you will see the sort of things that are helping others, which of those can you apply to your own situation?

Keep posting and check out the group schedule, hopefully I will meet you in a group here soon.

Hi and well done on looking for support.

I will reply more fully when I have more time but I do just need to say this.

The best time to take positive actions is NOW. There is no need for you to gamble tomorrow. If you are here then you ahve a gambling problem. if you lose you are likely to chase. if you win… well are you really likely to stop?

You need to stop gambling? Then good decision, stop now.

Keep posting and let us know what you do tomorrow INSTEAD of gambling.

Hi Darren, well done on looking for help. If we could do it on our own then none of us would be here.

I hope you scroll to the bottom of the My Journal Forum and start your own thread, You will get a lot of feedback and support and it will also help you to look back on it as you progress in your own recovery.

Look at the other stories here – what are they doing that you can apply to your own recovery?

Hi Laven and welcome, well done on looking for help.

You can stop gambling I promise you. I would suggest you take a look at the My Journal Forum, you willsee a lot of stories similar to your own. If you start your own thread there then you will get a lot of feedback and support.

You will see that barriers can help – you only lost 3k earlier because you had access to that sort of money. How can you limit your access to those sort of funds?

In the My Journal Forum you will read the sort of things that have helped others stop gambling, I look forward to readong your own story there as you start your non gambling journey.

Hi again, you need to speak to your girlfriend as well. Going to use your “freeplay” is just going to keep your addiction ticking over, even if her holding your cards means you don’t gamble at the time.

If she knows she has to hold your cards then why not ask her to help you with financial accountability at all times?
