Hi Richard and welcome to the forum. Well done on getting your password changed for that site. We have all sworn “never again” in the past and still gone back to it, there are a lot of sites out there. How about getting a gambling blocker for your PC?

Your girlfriend knows you ahve a gambling problem, to service those debts you are going to have a lot less money avaialble to you that she would expect. Likely she will suspect/realise there is a problem anyway. Trying to keep debts hidden can in itself send people back gambling.

Keep posting here, you stopped before so you can do it again. This time you have support to help maintain your recovery.

As you have found, this is a progressive problem. If we carry on gambling then however bad things are they will continue to get worse.

You can be that better husband. I don’t know what your local gambling regulations are but see if you can get yourself banned from that casino.

You said you were going to go to GA? Did you get there? Are you still going?

Get back to the things that helped before – just carry the cash you need for lunch etc

Being honest with yoru wife would help, she can help with the accountability.

Again, welcome back but this time KEEP posting, if we could do it on our own then we wouldnt be in trouble in the first place.

Just carry the money you need on a daily basis. if you do that then buying one of those lotto tickets would mean you miss out on your donuts! 🙂 carrying spare “just in case” money can allow us to gamble.

Are the finances manageable? It is important to see some of the benefits of not gambling, if the finances are too tight then it is hard to do that. There are lots of options around these days, if necessary get some proper financial advice.

Keep posting and try not to get too hooked on those donuts 🙂

Connect to the groups here and you will have someone to talk to, all except the “open Groups” have a facilitator so there will always be someone to talk to. We also have a one to one helpline as well.

You will alos be able to talk to other Compulsive gamblers at your local Gamblers Anonymous meeting.
