Hola a todos o nada. Bien hecho en tus 4 días. Es importante que pongamos el mismo esfuerzo en nuestra recuperación que en el juego, así que aplique la parte TODOS de su nombre de usuario a las acciones que realice ahora. Básicamente, este foro solo se usa para anunciar los próximos temas y discutir esos temas específicos. Espero que copie y pegue su publicación en My Journal Forum, donde encontrará mucho más apoyo. Het is belangrijk dat we dezelfde inspanning in ons herstel steken als bij gokken, dus pas het ALLE-gedeelte van uw gebruikersnaam toe op de acties die u nu onderneemt. Dit forum wordt eigenlijk alleen gebruikt om aankomende onderwerpen te adverteren en om die specifieke onderwerpen te bespreken. Ik hoop dat je je bericht kopieert en plakt op het My Journal Forum, waar je veel meer ondersteuning zult vinden. Lees daar ook de andere verhalen. Well done on looking for help. The money is gone, no getting it back unfortunately. Though if we could get it back as easily as that it would likely just lead to repeating the pain.
No time machine to take you a year back but you will get to a year in the future, one day at a time.
What things are like then will depend on what you do now. If NA helped you then it is likely that GA will as well. Be warned though – you have switched from drugs to drink/alcohol very easily. Be careful you don’t switch to another unhealthy option or return to the drugs. Maybe a mix of GA and NA meetings is called for.
Read the other stories here, you will see a lot that you will relate to. You will also see the success stories – what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?
I would say you need to do something to reduce your access to those sums of money, both generally but especially when you are planning on having a drink. Though of course with your addiction hopping maybe avoiding drink would also be a good idea.
Keep posting, get to GA. This time don’t “just” stop gambling in the way you “just” stopped taking drugs. Work recovery, fill your time with other things and address any underlying issues, character traits that need addressing etc.

charlesModeratorHi Twnmum, well done on looking for help. Read the other threads here, you will see a lot of things that you will relate to. You will also see the success stories – what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?
You will see that many people put barriers in place; where do you normally gamble? Get yourself excluded. How do you finance it? What financial barriers can you put in place?
The most important advice that I can ever give is – use the help that is availabel, if we could do it on our own then none of us would be here in the first place. Keep posting here, connect to the groups, check out your other support options such as Gamblers Anonymous meetings.
There is a lot of life after gambling, you can enjoy being a grandmother. By focusing on your own recovery you will be better placed to also be ther for your daughter, grand daughter and other family. Keep posting and let us know the positive steps that you are taking.
