Hello everyone
I’m new to this forum, I have been gambling for about 13 years now started when I was 20. But this last few years have been bad. I have managed to work my self into 12k of debt and am hiding it from my gf of 7 years. I do not know what to do. I am so tired of lying about this like I dont have a issue and I have no idea on what to do about my debt. I’m afraid of telling my gf since it might make me lose her, I have been caught gambling before by her and she supported me but it has gotten worse and I’m afraid. I really want to stop gambling so that I can actually save some money but a nicer car work towards owning a home and not have to lie anymore. I eat a me up every day all I think about is this stupid debt and how much of a piece of crap I am. But I always want to gamble I love alot machines. I can’t stop.

Hello Death rider and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
Take care
The Gambling Therapy Team

PS: Let me just remind you to take a look at our privacy policy and terms and conditions so you know how it all works!

Hi deathrider
You don’t say where you live but you can get lots of advice on sorting your debt out – you can pay off slowly while still having a good life .
Stopping gambling is hard but it is helpful to self ban from casinos or get blockers for your computer if that is the problem.
You can stop !
Life quickl becomes better once you do !
There are groups on here where you can chat – tonight there is one for new members – that might be a good place to start .Well done on seeking help !
