Hi, My name is Ryan and i am a sports betting addict.

It all started like 5-6 years ago when, betting with €10 cash on my favorite football team. i loved the suspense of watching the game and possibly winning money. Once i discovered online sports betting it all got worse real fast.

I come from a above average family so i had absolutely no worries financially. When i hit 18 they gave me 20k to kickstart my life (studies etc.) I deposited €200, played a little bit and won. So i figured i could play with higher stake to make more money. Before i knew it i was 5k down. At some point i went 1-2k per bet on heavy favorites but almost all of them lost.

I then lowered my stake a bit to €100 but whenever i lost i kept depositing, it was soo easy. 1k for a new television was way too expensive but i had no problem betting on a sports team for the same amount…

This behaviour kept going till i had +-5k left of all my savings. I was a little drunk and went all in on the superbowl, it looked really good but the team blew an enormous lead. After the game i had nothing left.

I had to take out a loan to pay my studies but i still played with money i got. Today was my last bet ( i hope), being 5k down in debt.

Loneliness played a big part in the story. i have no sisters/brothers so i was always alone at home. i filled my time with sportsbetting and nobody saw that. Still nobody knows i blew that much and i really cant tell anyone so i had to write it here.

I fucked up half of my life and i hope today is the day that i go without doing any bets
