I am concidering doing this as my husband has 45k in debt and in case things dont work out, I need to protect myself.  I may good money and when we sell our business, he will get half of the income from that.  I assume he will use his half to pay off his debt but Im upset about this as we had dreams to buy another rental and now with my half I have to be the accoutable one and use it to invest,  I want to make sure if we divorse, the judge includes this debt as part of something he sees in our debt and income…..I assume a lawyer is the start but for most of us on here spending more money on this subject makes me sick
