My name is David it’s payday again with 4 hours I have nothing again and owe my wages out which I haven’t got., This has been going on for as long as I can remember. I’ve just joined the forum and feel if I stick to plan I will beat this.i have lost 1000s over the years yet I still go back like a boxer coming off the ropes but I never win never have I can tell you some terrific wins but the loses always always out weigh them. I’ve always had the right intentions but they never end well I feel such a failure I’m 47 but feel 87 so down but I will overcome it if don’t I’ll probably due can’t see any other ending I can chat about experiences in ever bookmakers or on gambling site I’ve been on but as we all know the sadness and heartbreak when you walk out is like nothing else so I i don’t think it’s how much I lose im empty all the time sometimes when I gamble I know I’m Gunnar lose before I gamble but there’s always a plan b and c and d and I have no embarrassment asking for money until I spend it gambling and the it hits home hwhat I have done I will update my journal and hopehopefully the will be some kind of light tomorrow is day 1

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums

Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!

Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.

As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)

      And on that note….

I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂

      Take care

      The Gambling Therapy Team

PS: Let me just remind you to take a look at our privacy policy and terms and conditions so you know how it all works!

Good on you for joining this forum. I’ve been on here for about 3 weeks now and it really helps to share what struggles you are experiencing. There is always a light and hope at the end of the tunnel…as another member said, one step and one day at a time. I do hope you are getting other support as well as Counselling and GA? It’s good to seek out this support ASAP. Looking forward in reading about your wellness journey.

Well done on taking the first step on the road to recovery, David.
Thanks for reminding me of that empty feeling when we walk out, battered and bruised after losing our last cent.
      I did it for years.
There IS a different route you can take. David. You know that a CG will never win. That’s a start. When we realize that fully, we will never gamble again.

Oh my, that empty numb feeling, I remeber that well. Isn’t it the most awful feeling. I could feel myself going white, clammy and an almost out of body experience as the reality hit in on how much I had lost….and what I had done again. That we another reason why we can not and will not gamble again.
