Hello everyone.
My names Brandon and I am about to hit my two month mark. I am not even in the mood for this to be honest. Its a Thursday night and its 11pm. I am tired and have had a long day.
I made a promise to my wife though to show up on this site every Thursday and either participate in a discussion/group or create or respond to posts.
I have had an easy week. i haven’t thought about gambling all week. I was really busy and maybe thats why but I don’t have the itch right now. I haven’t had the itch for nearly two months.
Its probably becauase of the shitty feeling I get knowing all the financial damage I caused but if thats not it, i dont know what is. I am not vulnerable at the moment. I am tired and want to go to bed..
however, a promise is a promise. How is everyone doing tonight? Stay busy.. stay positive… we can all get better together. Its hard and life is difficult but with the right support system and outlelts..
Anybody can over come this addiction!

Hey Brandon, congratulations on two months gamble free. There could be a lot of reasons you don’t have the itch. Shitty feelings about debt and broken trust can definitely be one. The barriers that you wanted to put in place are working. The effort that it would take to gamble requires being downright sneaky and dishonest so that can be one. I was like that for a very long time. Months and months. But eventually I did get an itch. Certain states or feelings can trigger an urge such as being hungry, angry, lonely or tired. I’m glad it didn’t do that to you this time and instead you voiced it here. A promise is a promise and isn’t it nice to be able to keep them these days. Hope you got some rest. Keep aware. As you say, we need support systems and outlets. Have a good weekend. Laura
