I had A good week and was trying to erase some of the losses that got me to The point of realizing i needed To quit for good. Now, 2 weeks later I lost Double what I was Originally down And don’t know what to do. I thought I truly learned my lesson but I was wrong. Now I am truly defeated and don’t know what to do. I feel like I will never really be able to quit. It’s the worst feeling in the entire world and I am Really scared I wont Be able to change. I never Want to feel this way again but I know in a few weeks I’ll collapse again. 23 years old with a good job and I am Flushing every paycheck and all of my savings down the drain. I know If I continue This way I will Ruin my entire life for good. I Hope tonight was the last bet i will ever place, and that this is the last post I will Ever have to make about relapsing. Any support would be much appreciated.

It’s never too late to stop gambling! What barriers have you put into place? Have you looked at the videos here? There are many useful tips. Have you banned or put a blocker on your computer? GA meetings? We have to be proactive in our recovery. Use all if these things to help you. Keep going and posting here. Don’t give up!!

It took me a few of those times of quitting and chasing to finally get to the point I am. I agree with lizbeth4 above about putting blocks on to stop access and self excluding from all gambling accounts you have access to gamble on.
Personally I am trying to roll with all the negativity I feel towards gambling now to back up the strength to quit and stay quit. Remember how it feels. It’s always one day at a time. But start again. Keeping adding to your journal and stay focused. You can still do this. -

You are here and posting. I know that my commitment to myself to post once a day no matter what really helped me to get my head around what I was doing. Make a commitment to yourself. Post once a day, once a week. Put some barriers in place. If you have someone you trust who can help you with your money that’s a great place to start as we cannot gamble without any money. I wish you well. I recognise that your posting here is a statement of intent in the first place because you aren’t out there thinking of ways to cause more damage.

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums

We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
Take care

Hi Linder, you are already getting good advice. What positive actions can you start to take?
If you” flush every paycheck” then what things can you put in place before you next get paid?
Keep posting
