Just wanted to share these 12 Steps Cliches that I heard at Gamblers Anonymous Mini Conference few years back.Fellow giving the workshop had over 30 years clean and when ask why he still attended GA meetings he said that’s why he had 30 years clean.Didn’t want to become complacent and spending a few hours a week at a GA meeting was far less time than he spent gambling and each day he didn’t place a bet he got to develope a better way of living and thinking.

12 Step Cliches
1) The only person I can change is me.
2) If nothing changes, nothing changes.
3) I’m as sick as my secrets.
4)I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.
5) I cannot know what I don’t know, and what I do know is sometimes wrongfully obtained.
6) Meetings are key.
7) The meeting I miss is the meeting I need most.
8) Live the program One Day At A Time.
9) Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
10) God gave me two ears and one mouth so that I should listen twice as I speak.
11) GA did not open the gates of Heaven to let me in but surely opened the gates of Hell to let me out.
12) Once a cucumber becomes a pickle it can never be a cucumber again.
13) As long as I hold on to the shovel I dig my hole deeper. If I put the shovel down I can climb out.
14) Recovery is like paddling up stream, if I stop paddling I go back to where I was.
15) Individual talents are God’s gift to us. Utilizing these talents are our gift to God.
16) Procrastination is the thief of time.
17) Judges belong in the court room, not in the GA room.
18) The only stupid question is the one that is not asked.
19) What I live I learn, what I learn I practice,and what I practice I become.
20) If I change the way I look at things, the things I look at change.
